IAPEX 2022, on the theme “Towards a New Urban Agenda, was held in Lahore under the leadership of Saad Mahmood Khan, President, IAP. This year the main focus of the Annual Convention of Architects was to bring forth the issues of rapid unchecked and unregulated urbanization and resulting problems. President UIA Ar. Jose Luis Cortes & President CAA Ar. Peter Oborn especially flew to Pakistan from Mexico and UK to attend the 3-day event. 

The Forum engaged with the Call to Action on Sustainable Urbanization adopted by Heads of Government at Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) which took place in Kigali, June 2022.

A declaration was signed by Presidents of Union of International Architect (UIA), Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA), Institute of Architects Pakistan (IAP), Institute of Planning Pakistan (IPP), and Institute of Engineering Pakistan (IEP) at the culmination of IAPEX 2022 with a resolve to follow what has been discussed at the IAPEX 2022 proceedings.
